Week 8

It has been another busy week. I had my first mid-term on Thursday, and I got an A on it! That made me pretty happy. I have also been busy with photo and design projects, an essay for my writing class, and a group project for my human behavior class. My human behavior class has group presentations every few weeks, and they are a big deal. Groups put on skits to communicate a message, and people can get really into it. The costumes and dialogue are often hilarious. My group has big plans for our upcoming performance...plans that might top our rendition of a scene from Braveheart, for which we used cardboard boxes as costumes!

I continue to apprectiate RWU’s location more and more each day. My family came to visit on Saturday, and I showed them around. We went to Colt State Park and drove around downtown Bristol and the surrounding towns. Even though I’d already seen it all, I was still struck by the beauty of the bay, the numerous trees, and the houses and shops. Even my family noticed the scenery. They commented again and again on how lucky I was to be near such a wonderful area. I agreed with them.

This past week was spirit week, and we had homecoming this weekend. I regret to say that I did not really participate in the activities assocatiated with either of these things (except for Midnight Madness), but in my defense, I already had plenty to do! I went to Providence several times, which has become a weekly ritual. Providence is a fun place to explore, although I might try something different sometime by going to Newport.

Friday night was Midnight Madness, which is a sort of pep rally. All of the sports teams say hello, introduce players, and either put on some sort of performance or involve the audience in a fun way. Dance club also performed several routines. I had a great time. There was definitely a lot of school spirit going around. To make things interesting, there were also some professional acrobat-type people who jumped on a trampoline from time to time, doing really cool flips. They even wore snowboards and skis at one point. I was very impressed. I would be too scared to attempt even a simple backflip. Anyways, I meant to take pictures at Midnight Madness, but I forgot to bring a camera!! My apologies. You will just have to accept that it was SWEET.

My involvement in clubs continues to keep me on my toes. I am attending a conference in New Hampshire this weekend for Intervarsity, I recently joined a programs committee for IRHA, and I will be helping set up for a hypnotist show, which will be put on next Monday. With clubs, work, and homework, I have very little free time, but hey, I feel that it is better to have a lot to do than almost nothing to do.

Well, it is now time for me to do some homework, something I always look forward to…

REMEMBER, if you have any questions or just want to say hi, you know how to reach me!
