Second Semester

I arrived back on campus on Tuesday afternoon. Stepping into my room felt like stepping back in time. I took everything in with my eyes, recalling memories as I looked around the room that I hadn’t been in for six whole weeks. The place was spotless, a condition that I had never seen it in before. After the idea that I was going to be living there for another semester sunk in, I went to work unpacking. It took forever...I had brought more with me than I had taken away when I left.

Dinner on Tuesday consisted of an orange and a tiny piece of chicken (I had eaten a very late lunch). Nonetheless, it was enjoyable because I was back with my friends, and it was soooo nice to see them again!

Classes started on Wednesday, and I really like my professors. They seem like a lot of fun, and they definitely know what they are talking about. I can tell already that a few of them will require a lot of work from me, but I’m prepared to buckle down and get it all done when the time comes. I am taking Lit/Phil, Aesthetics (an art-related core class), Critical Writing for the Professions, Typography, and Intro to Mass Media.

I am also in the process of applying for the positions of OA (orientation advisor) and RA (resident assistant), so some of you future freshmen might be seeing me in the summer...maybe I’ll even be your orientation group leader! I’ll keep you updated on those two things...hopefully I’ll get both jobs, but we’ll see. In addition, I am applying to be a member of SOAR, which is a program that helps people develop their leadership skills.

So, as you can see, I am trying to get even more involved at RWU than I already am, meaning that I will be even busier! It’s going to be one fun semester…

As always, e-mail me with any questions you may have. Thank you to those who have been brave enough to ask. I hope I’ve been a help!

Until next time,
Katie
