Halloween, a Storm, and More
Everyone has been in the mindset of Halloween lately. While I was at a conference for Intervarsity in New Hampshire last weekend, Chameleon Club held another dance.I hear that it was fun (not to mention crazy). Everyone had donned their Halloween costumes, so it must have been quite a sight. Although I missed the dance, I did not miss Halloween. In fact, I went trick-or-treating in Bristol with some of my friends. I felt too old to be going around to people’s houses asking for candy, but I actually had a lot of fun, and the people were delighted to see Roger Williams students out and about. We got many comments on how nice our costumes were and how it was nice that college students were being a part of the community. This was not exactly the response that I had been expecting, but was, in fact, more positive. By the time I got back to my room, I had collected plenty of candy...probably too much for my own good. But I gave some away.
Despite having an essay and part of a graphic design project due on Friday, I went to a concert in Providence on Thursday night. Polysics (a very strange Japanese band), Young Love, Hellogoodbye, and Say Anything were playing. How could I stay away? So in order to prepare for the concert, I had to get all my work done beforehand, which meant a few late nights. However, it was worth it. The concert was a blast, and it was nice to spend a night out with some of my friends. I am really enjoying having good concert opportunities nearby. I am not used to it...Maine gets hardly anything.
Today I spent most of my energy in the darkroom completing another photo project. I was by myself most of the time, but that was fine. I cranked the radio and made the most of my situation. I am definitely drained, though. Printing takes a lot of concentration and hard work, so I am now quite tired. But I haven’t missed much today. There has been a terrible storm going on all day (and it’s still going on), so everyone has been trapped indoors. The wind has been blowing very hard, knocking loose tree branches down. It also pours from time to time. Prior to the storm, the school sent me about four emails and one phone call concerning the storm, so I was very prepared. I personally enjoy storms, so even though everyone has been lounging around their rooms all day, I have enjoyed myself.
Anyways, due to my utter exhaustion, I feel a need to sleep. So, goodbye for now, and thanks for reading my blog!
