We hope you have had a chance to meet one of our Admission Counselors on the road this Fall. If you haven’t please refer to our website at www.rwu.edu under Admissions, click on RWU on the road. We list by State and Country our high schools visit lists and college fairs. If you don’t see your high school listed or college fair near you call our office and we will be able to tell you if and when we will be in your area. We offer tours 3x a day, Monday through Friday and 2x on Saturday. Just call our office to schedule your visit or register online for a tour and information session. We have two remaining OPEN HOUSES this Fall scheduled for October 20th and November 3rd. Our campus could not be more beautiful this time of year which is surrounded by two bays of the Atlantic Ocean in the historic village of Bristol, RI. The Fall foliage is at its peak right now so come and enjoy our campus, meet our faculty, students and staff. While traveling to RWU or just if you are interested in knowing what our State has to offer please enjoy the suggested tour listed below which was developed by, Eric Schmigle, a member of our Admission staff. We look forward to meeting all of you and sharing with you what RWU has to offer…..
If you will be visiting RWU’s campus we highly recommend you visit the historic downtown of Bristol. Roger Williams University is located only a few minutes away and you will be pleasantly surprised of what Bristol has to offer. Visit Historic Bristol to learn more about one of New England’s hidden treasures.
If you cannot get enough of the beautiful coastline of Rhode Island we suggest traveling only 30 minutes up the road to Newport, RI . Newport has its own feel with fine dining, shopping on Thames Street and scenic walking tours of historic mansions. If you feel adventurous you can always make reservations on one of the many sailboats that offer tours of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. Weather and season permitting.
Lastly, when leaving RI and if time allows visit Providence, RI. It has its own shopping Mall at Providence Place which is a 3 level upscale shopping center, visit Thayer Street, Federal Hill for Italian food and WaterFire which is a must when visiting RI.Read More
This past weekend, Roger Williams University had terrific back to back events! On Saturday, RWU celebrated the Law School’s 20th anniversary, 350th anniversary of the Rhode Island Colonial Charter and 40 years of Marine Biology at RWU. We celebrated at Waterfire in downtown Providence there were great displays and exhibits from the School of Architecture, Marine Biology, School of Continuing Studies and the Community Partnerships Center. There was also a dance performance from our current members of the RWU Dance Theatre program. RWU definitely felt the love!
On Sunday, RWU held the first Open House of the fall which was a great turnout. We welcomed 655 prospective students and their families- what an exciting event to end the weekend. If you were unable to attend Open House – we have two more coming up. Sunday, October 20th and Sunday, November 3rd. We hope to see you there!Read More

It’s summer time, and while for most of you that means spending your days at the beach getting some sun, or working your annual summer job, and spending time with your friends and family it also means that it’s time to visit the colleges you’re considering applying to in the fall. Summer is a great time to plan a road trip with friends – and yes, even your parents – to begin narrowing down the long list of schools you might have an interest in. Believe it or not, you can make this fun, I promise! Yes, Rhode Island has a lot of different campuses for you to visit and while the main focus of your trip should be academically based on finding the right “college fit” for you, we also have some great BEACHES and summer fun for Rhode Islander’s and visitors alike.
When planning your “Rhode Trip,” you might consider mapping out stops at each of the schools in the area you are interested in while making time in between each stop to enjoy all that little rhody has to offer during the summer months. The beaches are a must when visiting R.I. and the summer events here are another reason to visit entirely on their own.
Take time to plan your trip to make sure you are getting the most out of the time you’ll be spending away from home. This means plan ahead! Don’t forget to call each Office of Admission at the schools you plan to visit to schedule your tour before you arrive. It’s also important to be organized and brainstorm some questions that you want to have answered at each of your campus visits. Create a checklist – something to keep you busy on your drive to RI – of the top 5-10 things you are looking for in a college and bring a folder to take home information from each individual visit. Finally, while we are all in summer mode now, the fall will be here before we know it. It’s important that you collect information on application requirements and deadlines at each school.
To plan your visit to RWU you can call our office at 401-254-3500 or make a reservation right online! We offer 4 tours per day Monday-Friday @ 9am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm. We will begin to offer tours on Saturdays on August 13th @ 10:00am and 12:00pm. We are only 20 minutes from Newport, so don’t forget to give yourself some time to sight see!
Hope to see you on campus soon! Enjoy your summer!!!Read More
