With the end of the semester only 16 days away (when did that happen!?) all of our faculty, staff, and students are busy preparing to wrap up their Fall semesters.
Coming up this week we have our Annual Winter Illumination on Wednesday, while Dance Theatre in Concert will start on Thursday and run through Sunday.
Our Varsity sports teams are hoping to end their semesters on a strong note as our Mens Basketball, Womens Basketball, Mens Ice Hockey, Wrestling, and Mens and Womens Swimming and diving all are competing over the next two weeks.
Here in the Admission Office we are working hard to read and process all of the Early Action 1&2 applications we’ve received. If you missed our Early Action deadlines, no worries! We still have our Regular Decision deadline coming up on February 1st. In the mean time consider coming to visit us on campus over your winter break as we will be offering tours at 9 am, 12:30 pm, and 2 pm throughout the winter.
Happy holidays and go Hawks!Read More
It was an exciting past 6 weeks for the RWU Admission team as we were busy traveling to different high schools and college fairs to meet prospective students! Now all of the members of our team are back in the office, we are excited to be busy reading the Early Action 1 applications and helping you –the prospective student- through the application process. Remember to call us with any questions you might have along the way, you can reach our office by calling 401-254-3500.
If you still want to apply Early Action and haven’t gotten your application in yet DON’T WORRY! We have an Early Action 2 deadline that has been moved back to November 19th due to Hurricane Sandy.Read More
It’s summer time, and while for most of you that means spending your days at the beach getting some sun, or working your annual summer job, and spending time with your friends and family it also means that it’s time to visit the colleges you’re considering applying to in the fall. Summer is a great time to begin narrowing down the long list of schools you might have an interest in. Believe it or not, you can make this fun, I promise! Yes, Rhode Island has a lot of different campuses for you to visit and while the main focus of your trip should be to find the right “college fit,” we also have some great beaches and summer fun for Rhode Islander’s and visitors alike.
When planning your “Rhode Trip,” you might consider mapping out stops at each of the schools in the area you are interested in while making time in between each stop to enjoy all that little rhody has to offer during the summer months. The beaches are a must when visiting R.I. and the summer events here are another reason to visit entirely on their own.
To make sure you get the most out of your trip make sure to plan ahead! Don’t forget to call each Office of Admission at the schools you plan to visit to schedule your tour before you arrive. It’s also important to be organized and brainstorm some questions that you want to have answered at each of your campus visits. Create a checklist – something to keep you busy on your drive to RI – of the top 5-10 things you are looking for in a college and bring a folder to take home information from each individual visit. Finally, while we are all in summer mode now, the fall will be here before we know it. It’s important that you collect information on application requirements and deadlines at each school.
To plan your visit to RWU you can call our office at 401-254-3500 or make a reservation right online! We offer 4 tours per day Monday-Friday @ 9am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm. We will begin to offer tours on Saturdays on August 13th @ 10:00am and 12:00pm. We are only 20 minutes from Newport, so don’t forget to give yourself some time to sight see!
Hope to see you on campus soon!Read More
