Introductory Remarks on the Life of a Rising 2L.

My name is Rod Alcidonis, a rising 2L, from New York City. I love music, traveling, and of course, the law. Not surprisingly, prior to Law School I was a music producer and a regular concert performer.

I said prior to Law School, because in my 1L year - to the extent that I can trust my recollection - I don’t remember having so much time to engage in these endeavors as I did when they were the primary means by which I paid my bills. Now, 1L is over, 2L is just around the corner, and I could not be happier with my decision to attend Law School.

Unlike some of my friends, becoming a lawyer to me is more than a passion. Of course, as with all passions, there are some good days, and the not so satisfying ones. Some of the good days for me, besides my 1L experience, have been my recent participation in the London Comparative Trial Advocacy Program. Overall, the experience was fun, and above all, intellectually stimulating.

Immediately after the end of my 1L year, I decided to join the leadership of the MCLSA, one of the most active organizations at the Law School. I am currently serving as the Education Chair. I also intend to participate in Moot court, Trial-Team, and anything else that I could only imagine being part of during my 1L year.

As for a comeback to the music world, I would love to do so. However, only the first few weeks of my 2L year will decide whether this would be possible. We’ll see!

Take care for now, until the next post.
