Champion for Choice Visits RWU Law

As the spring semester winds down, the School of Law hosted a visit from Dr. Sarah Weddington, a champion for women’s rights for more than three decades.  Dr. Weddington is best-known for her advocacy in Roe v. Wade, a world-shaking argument she won at the U.S. Supreme Court at the tender age of 27.  Since then she has served in the state and federal government, written an autobiography (A Question of Choice), and last summer received a special award from the American Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession.

While at RWU, Dr. Weddington had lunch with students, addressed a large crowd in our Appellate Courtroom, and then patiently spoke individually to the dozens who lined up to get an autographed copy of her book.

Here are some pictures from her visit.
