As the Democrats gather in Denver this week to nominate Barack Obama for President, RWU Law will be in the heart of the action.  The Democratic National Commitee has given special journalists’ credentials to one blogger from each state and RWU Law graduate Matt Jerzyk ’08 has been chosen as RI’s official blogger.  Matt will have “unparalleled access to the state delegations and the floor of the convention hall.” Click here to read about this unique opportunity.

After graduating from Brown University, Matt made his mark in a range of social justice areas.  In 2005 he founded the blog Rhode Island’s Future, which quickly became the leading Democratic blog in the Ocean State, receiving nearly 1,000,000 hits per month.

imageKim Ahern ’09 will also be at the convention serving as a delegate for Barack Obama.  Kim is a graduate of Providence College and currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Roger Williams Law Review.  This past weekend the Providence Journal ran a front page story about Kim and the convention.  To read that article click here.  Kim is a contributor to the Rhode Island Future blog so look for some of her updates there.  She will also be blogging her experiences in Denver for the U.S. State Department’s America.gov web site.  To read that blog click here.

Just a few weeks ago Matt and Kim had the unique opportunity to interview U.S. Senator Jack Reed for Rhode Island’s Future.  Their discussion ranged from Iraq to off-shore oil drilling.  Press play below to see Matt and Kim go toe to toe with a U.S. Senator.

imageUpdate: I just learned that Yul-Mi Cho ‘09 is also at the convention this week.  Yul-Mi has been working this summer for the Democratic National Committee on the Rules and Credentials Committee.  At right is a picture of her outside the convention hall.
