RWU Law Grads Score Big

New York state has a reputation as one of the toughest bar exams in the nation.  Besides testing on quirks of New York law (thus making it tougher for students who attend schools outside of New York), it historically has a relatively low pass rate.  For RWU Law, New York ranks fourth on the list of states where our graduates take the bar exam.

In the July, 2008 administration of the exam, RWU Law first-time takers passed the New York exam at a 91% clip (vs. a state average 83%).  In fact, RWU Law matched the pass rate of the 15 New York law schools (91%). For the entire year (February and July combined), our first-time rate is 88% (vs. 81% statewide).  Click here for more detailed data from the NY Bar Examiners.

This strong performance is the latest in a string of successes, as RWU Law grads have racked up impressive scores in all of our major states: our best rate ever in Rhode Island, plus record-breaking performances on the Massachusetts bar exam (the jurisdiction where most of our graduates sit for the exam) and Connecticut.  Read earlier blogs for more information about Massachusetts and Connecticut results.
