Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned

I know in the past few months I have done a lot of talking about what to do and what not to do, but I like sharing with others what law school and life has taught me. So here I go again. Through my years in law school I have learned to shut out negative influences and instead thrive off of the obstacles that are put in my way. Never let anything or anyone get in your way. There is no circumstance that you can not over come, if you feel like you can do it you can. No case too long or too complicated to conquer you. No professor is so scary that you can not answer the question, just take a deep breath and relax, if you get it wrong oh well there is always next time. Speak up, if you have something to say, say it don’t be afraid of what your classmates think, or that someone will think you are stupid or worse wrong. Never let the opinions of others stop you from doing what you want. Granted you should not just cast away people’s opinions, because sometimes they can be very important, you should just let them wash over you like a wave on the sand. After all every experience is a changing one no matter how small or insignificant it may seam. Even reading a case can change the way you feel, or think. And just like a wave on the beach washes away a little bit of sand every time it crashes so to does life, slowly chiseling out the person we all become. I guess my major message is that you don’t let events and obstacles that you face in law school overwhelm you or bring you down, look at them as another learning experience. I mean after all that is what school is for to learn, to make your mistakes and learn form them. So learn from your mistakes and successes, learn form the friendships that fail, the professors that correct, the answer you got wrong, but most of all learn that you can do anything that you put your mind too.
