Speak out for thoes whom cant speak for themselves!
Day 3 was a little bit different. There was not much going on here so we explored Manchester and some of the surrounding area.
I was not a ONE-campaign supporter. I did not feel that one percent of our federal budget should be going to support developing nations in Africa. I believed this because it is not in the US best interest to invest in third world tyrannical governments and their supporters. Rather I prefer specific aid that will not fund their governments but rather enrich their people. I prefer enriching their people with exposure to human capitol and not supply these governments with financial capital. Feeding tyrannical governments money and telling them to spend it on their people has proven to not work as intended. However as I discovered, the ONE-campaign is no longer in favor of surrendering our federal budget to foreign states. Rather they are for a unified American people in favor of relieving the financial burdens of the African States. Personal charities with specific goals are funding the campaign rather than relying on the federal government to contribute out of the kindness of its hart. This is exactly what I wanted to see and perhaps I should have paid more attention to the ONE-campaign on campus. I now support the ONE-campaign.
Later on that night, I received a call from the Mike Huckabee campaign in NH inviting me to a meet and greet dinner. I always jump at the opportunity to see the Gov. in person and was more than willing to go and meet him again. Sarah Dallon and I went to a restaurant to meet Mike and get the chance to speak with him. Sarah jumped right in not feeling out of place and started to mingle with the Huckabee supporters. When the Gov came to speak with Sarah politely asked him to dawn the ONE-campaign white bracelet and display his support for the initiative. Mike was more than willing and furthermore shared his gratitude for the ONE-Campaign with us.
